What are the main components of a clutch?
(1) The driving part of the clutch includes the flywheel, clutch cover, and pressure plate. The clutch cover is fixed to the flywheel with bolts, and the protrusion on the circumference of the rear end of the pressure plate extends into the window of the clutch cover and can move axially along the window. In this way, when the engine rotates, power is transmitted to the pressure plate through the flywheel and clutch cover to rotate together.
(2) The driven part of the clutch includes a driven plate and a driven shaft. The driven plate is equipped with double-sided friction plates, which come into contact with the flywheel and pressure plate respectively when the clutch is engaged normally; The driven plate is installed on the spline of the driven shaft through a splined hub. The driven shaft is the input shaft (shaft a) of the manual transmission. Its front end is supported in the central hole at the rear end of the crankshaft through a bearing, and its rear end is supported on the transmission housing.
(3) The clutch compression mechanism has several evenly distributed compression springs along the circumference, installed between the pressure plate and the clutch cover, used to compress the pressure plate and driven plate onto the flywheel, so that the flywheel, driven plate, and pressure plate are pressed together.
(4) The clutch control mechanism is composed of a clutch pedal, a release lever, a release lever adjustment fork, a release fork, a release sleeve, a release bearing, a release lever, and a return spring.
